‘Clear conception, innovation and design, at the intersection of fashion and architecture.’ The ‘broken-hearted’ love story of Rem D Koolhaas, nephew and namesake of architect Rem Koolhaas, will go down in shoemaking history for giving birth to the company behind some of today’s most forward-thinking footwear designs.
Established in 2003, together with Galahad Clark (a seventh generation shoemaker), each UNITED NUDE product holds a strong connection to architectural design and represents an exploration of the possibilities offered by movement, colors and materials.
Commencing with its inaugural ‘Möbius’ shoe, the brand is guided in equal parts by pushing the boundaries of footwear design, and collaborating on limited edition releases with high profile designers from IRIS VAN HERPEN to ZAHA HADID and ISSEY MIYAKE.

Named winner of a 2016 Wallpaper* Design Award for its LO RES CAR, UNITED NUDE is positioned as a world leader in design. The brand, based in Los Angeles, is sold in over 50 countries worldwide, with concept stores in Amsterdam, Dubai , Vienna, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Taipei, Jakarta and Beijing.
Galahad Clark
FOUNDER – is a seventh generation shoemaker from Somerset, England.
He learned the family trade working summers on production lines for Clark’s shoes in Northampton and Italy. As a Morehead Scholar he studied Chinese and Anthropology at the University of North Carolina. He founded ‘Students 4 Students International’ a humanitarian organization project to benefit students in Africa. In 2002 he took over the Terra Plana shoe brand which he has run ever since.

Rem D Koolhaas is a Dutch architect trained at the Technical University of Delft in Holland. United Nude was launched in 2003 with the Möbius shoe. Under Rem’s creative leadership United Nude has become the worlds top expert in technically advanced / architectural ladies footwear. Nine consecutive Haute Couture runway shoes with Iris Van Herpen, Lady Gaga’s Fame shoes and the Nova Shoe by Zaha Hadid are some of United Nude’s recent highlights. United Nude has flagship stores in Amsterdam, London and New York, which have all been designed by Rem D.
